Common questions

Deposits, holds, soft close, reserves, shipping, and consigning—straight answers before you bid.

Account & wallet

Do I need to verify my email?

Yes. Email verification is required before you can create a deposit claim or place a bid. You can still browse the floor as a guest or while unverified—you just can’t move money or lock a hold until the address is confirmed. That keeps winners reachable when a lot closes.

How do deposits work?

Open Wallet → Deposit, pick a listed payment method, and transfer the amount externally using your unique DEP- reference code in the memo/note field. Then mark “I’ve paid” in the app. An admin matches the transfer to your claim and credits available balance. Matching is free in the MVP; only the amount you send is credited.

Why is some of my money “held”?

When you become the high bidder, that bid amount is held from available balance so you can’t overspend across lots. If you’re outbid, the auction cancels, or a lot closes without meeting reserve, the hold returns to available. Winning with reserve met settles the hold into the sale.

Can I withdraw unused balance?

Yes. You can request a withdrawal anytime from Wallet for unlocked (available) balance. Funds locked to an active bid hold cannot be withdrawn until that bid is outbid, voided, or the auction settles and the hold is released. Ops reviews requests manually and pays out to the destination you provide.

Bidding

What is anti-snipe / soft close?

If a valid bid lands in the final minutes of a live auction, we extend the end time so others can respond. The default window is 3 minutes (shown on each lot). Last-second snipes don’t instantly freeze the floor—competitors get a fair chance to answer.

What if reserve isn’t met?

No sale settles. Holds are released back to available balance. Staff may relist the lot later with a different start or reserve. Watch the reserve status on the bid panel before you push hard on vehicles or machinery.

Are bids binding?

Yes. Accepted bids are binding under the bidding rules and terms. Only admin-voided bids release holds outside the normal outbid / no-sale paths. Don’t bid what you can’t settle.

Where do I see upcoming lots?

Use the Schedule page for live-now and upcoming-by-day views, or filter the auctions browse by Live, Ending soon, Upcoming, and Ended/sold. Scheduled lots open automatically at their start time.

Lots & fulfillment

Who lists the items?

Staff list inventory for the MVP so photos and specs stay consistent. Public seller self-serve comes later. If you want to consign cars, computers, cameras, or collectibles, use the Sellers page and email intake with photos and condition notes.

How detailed are car listings?

Vehicle lots include grouped sections: vehicle basics (trim, colors, VIN partial), powertrain, history & condition, features & safety, and inspection/pickup notes—plus a longer overview. Review those before you bid; ask support if something’s unclear on a high-value lot.

Who pays shipping?

Usually the buyer, unless a listing says otherwise. Smaller electronics can often ship; vehicles and machinery are typically local pickup or buyer-arranged transport after funds settle. See Shipping & pickup for the post-win steps.

Is there a buyer premium?

No buyer premium on wallet-settled wins in the current MVP. You pay the hammer price held from your wallet when you win and reserve is met. Seller commissions for consignments are confirmed in writing before a lot goes live—see Fees.
